Brief background
- Mykonos is one of the most touristy spots in Greece, particuoapar among party goers.
- June/July is the peak of the tourist season.
- Nudism is not legal in the entire island of Mykonos, however tolerated.
- There’s no bus to this beach, and it’s a 25-minute ride from Mykonos Town.
- Self drive scooters and cars are available for rent. Due to windy weather in general, and the hilly terrain, a four wheeler or a heavy two wheeler or ATV is recommended, as a two wheeler may feel too light to withstand the wind, at times.
Detailed review
Weather
- Clear sky, almost 30 degrees Celsius on the evening I visited.
Visitors
- Less than 10 at 7:30 pm.
- This looked like a very small number given the peak season.
Solo visitors present?
- Not sure. Everyone was in groups.
Entry
- Free entry.
- No "couple only" entry rules.
Nudity rules
- Nudity is illegal by law in Mykonos.
- Nudity is tolerated in many beaches though, including Agrari. As I had read, I realised that not much nudist vibes can be expected during the peak tourist season of June. However, I had expected higher number of visitors.
Gender ratio
- Women : men was roughly 1:1.
States of undress
- Almost 50% among men naked, 0% women naked.
- I got quite late reaching the beach. There were definitely more people earlier, however, the area occupied by nudists seemed to be very small.
- This beach neither seemed to be a party hub of textiles, nor a place which nudists could feel belonging to.
Age bracket ratio
- (18-40) : 40+ was roughly 1:1.
Racial composition
- All seemed to be whites.
Ethnic composition
- No information.
Body sizes ratio
- Slim to plus sizes was roughly 3.5 : 1.
Interaction level
- Medium.
Difficulty level
- Medium/High difficulty in getting naked - only a few nude along a corner, that too, only men.
- However there were some rocks to hide from others.
Sexual activities observed
- No.
Activities & facilities
- Agrari beach restaurant right on the beach.
- I would be surprised, however, if people could go there topless or nude. I was quite late to reach so there was not anyone visible at the restaurant.
- The nudists seemed to be quite sidelined by the tourists during the peak season. A handful were sitting at a corner.
Conclusion
- Mykonos, as such, cannot be recommended as a good nudist destination, particularly during the peak tourist season of June/July.
- We went to a few more beaches as well, including Fokos beach in the north, which was recommended by a young Albanian girl, on her own, as a place where people like to get naked. This happened without us even asking her for nude beach recommendations, so naturally we expected it to be a great place, but it came it was a flop. Not only there was almost nobody naked, the beach was also not that beautiful.
- Other islands like Crete have some legal nude beaches and may be better.
