From September 2021 onwards, we conducted lots of insightful surveys on Reddit, starting with the subreddit r/naturism and then also into other subreddits like r/nudism, some of which got overwhelming participation, so much that the number of participants exceeded our quota of responses available with our non-commercial SurveyMonkey plan. Here we have compiled all the highlights and links to the results of all the surveys -
- Survey #20 - Will France be successful in organising WNBR rides in 16 venues for the first time in 2022? 57% majority voted that only some of them will be successful.
- Survey #19 - Universities & nudism - We received a lukewarm response on this, with some exciting information. The survey is still open and we will publish the results on reaching 10 responses.
- Survey #18 - Children and Nudism - An overwhelming 208 people participated in almost 9 days and 160 of the responses could be presented in the results, which show 81% of the respondents actively supporting raising their children as nudists.
- Revealing he/she is a nudist/nudism enthusiast - When is the best time he/she should let you know? 55% of the respondents voted initial phase. The survey was posted only on r/Arrangedmarriage (a non nudist sub) and was removed by the moderators due to the topic.
- Survey #17 - Country specific naturist organisations affiliated to International Naturist Federation (INF) / Fédération naturiste internationale (FNI) / Internationalen Naturisten Föderation (INF) - Due to low participation, survey is still open.
- Survey #16 - A data-backed survey of naked bike rides (WNBRs and more) - Two WNBRs from US were submitted, both having a healthy number of participants.

- Survey #15 - Destination recommendations for the difficult months of the year - Unfortunately no responses received against this yet. Survey is still open here.
- Survey #14 - Naturist / Nudist businesses - Part 1 - We discovered one new innovative initiative - Western Nudist Research Library, which is a nudist library, archive and museum, which is a not for profit initiative and has raised funding eventually. Due to low participation, the survey is still open here.
- Survey #13 - Destination review consumption behavior of nudist travelers or enthusiasts - This was repeat of Survey#7 on SurveyMonkey. Only one response, which says they indeed look for visitor stats (like gender ratio etc.) in only those reviews which contain certain keywords and they spend less than a day reading reviews in order to decide whether to visit a destination or not. - Survey #12 - Visitor stats and some key destination info from nudist destinations - No responses on this unfortunately, but we received one from another discussion on reddit. This has been published on our Instagram profile, along with all the other entries. This survey is opened from time to time as a contest on our Instagram handle @thenudistcalendar.
- Survey #11 - Gender balance via gender-based regulations - Almost two equal sections of opposite opinions - 48% disagreed that a gender-ratio regulated environment will promote healthier overall participation.
- Survey #10 - Online initiatives - risk of getting banned vs gender inclusiveness - 85% agreed that initiatives like The Nudist Calendar also run the risk of getting banned by Instagram/Facebook while at the same time, 69% also agreed that online platforms are more likely to attract women by being present in platforms like Instagram, rather than by boycotting them and restricting themselves to platforms like Mewe which are less known.
- Survey #9 - Ranking Nudist Destination types in terms of Difficulty level - Given a set of 14 different destination types to be arranged in order of difficulty level (difficulty to get naked), 20% people voted volunteering as a model for a nude art class as the most difficult activity while 20% also voted visiting a nude/clothing optional beach on a regular day as the most easy one.
- Survey #8 - Secretly broadcasting in your social circle that you are a nudist/naturist and identifying others! - 87% voted that they found the Universal Naturist Symbol useful in secretly broadcasting in the social circle.
- Survey #7 - Destination review consumption behavior of nudist travelers or enthusiasts - Need to conduct this survey again on SurveyMonkey, because participation was poor via direct survey on Reddit.
- Survey #6b - Which is your home country? - USA constituted 36% and India, Canada, Netherlands 9% each.
- Survey #6a - What is your gender? - 88.7% were cis-men and only 1.5% cis-women. Non binary/trans constituted 6% and couples were only 3.8%.
- Survey - What best describes your sexual orientation? - Survey was closed mid way by the moderators, however, in many later surveys, we subtly asked this question, along with gender and collected results.
- Survey #5 - Do you agree that nudist destination reviews with visitor stats in consolidated bullet points are going to make it easier for travelers to plan their next travel destination? - 82% voters agreed.
- Survey #4 - Which gender do you think would benefit more from promotion of gender balance in nudist destinations? - 36% voted for women and 11% for men while the majority voted for both.
- Survey #3 - Ranking countries on Overall Nudism Index - out of a total score of 9 - UK emerged on top, followed by Netherlands & Sweden, but the number of participants were very limited for each country.
- Survey#2 - Would you support a project which focuses on providing visitor stats from nudist destinations? - 87% voted in favor of supporting a project which focuses on providing visitor stats from nudist destinations.
- Survey #1 What are some pressing concerns faced by or some causes dear to nudism enthusiasts? - 30% voted for Legalising public nudism in their country as the most pressing concern.
Additional surveys
- Would Twitter be more inclusive about nudism now that Elon Musk has taken over? Only 25% felt yes. And now the deal also has a lot of uncertainity.
- Who would be your favorite lead pair for a Bollywood film on nudism? Gulshan Devaiah and Kirti Kulhari, Ranveer Singh and Sanya Malhotra came out as some recommendations.
- Revealing that one is a nudist/nudism enthusiast in an arranged marriage scenario - when is the best time to reveal? 55% people, in r/Arrangedmarriage voted for revealing in the initial phase, i.e. when getting to know each other. Unfortunately, the post was removed by the moderators while the survey was running. It's worth noting that even this survey on Open marriages, which involves having sex with other people while being married, was not removed.
