Background
This campaign draws motivation from the "Naked people Home Edition" project - https://naked-people.blogspot.com/
The purpose of this campaign is to help people visualise naked bodies in this clothed world by creating a diverse repository of considerable size.
In today's world, we are presented with lots of layers above human beings, which are supposed to enhance the beauty. However, often, when that layer is removed, we find that the appearance of the person is in stark contrast to the enhanced version. As if make-up, tummy tuckers, wigs, padded bras, etc., were not enough, we also have Instagram/Snapchat filters, AI tools etc. which even alter the speech and appearance of a person on a live call.
Consequences of the trend
There could be serious consequences of these layers of enhancement. Meeting a person on a date after weeks/months (sometimes even years) of interacting online and developing an emotional connection, and finding they appear completely different from how they appeared online, could cause us lots of frustration and even lead to depression in some cases.
Moreover, in cultures like India, where people end up into arranged marriages without ever seeing their partners naked and sometimes this results in situations where the body type or certain features of the body of the partner do not match their preference. This could lead to very unpleasant situations which could last a life-time or become a barrier in formation of a healthy relationship in some cases.
While a lot of it is beyond the scope of this project, we focus only on the clothing aspect, which itself has vast scope and impact.
Participation format
- Two pics need to be submitted with the same pose - one clothed and one completely naked.
- Showing face is preferable but not mandatory.
- A verification round needs the participant to follow a pose and hold a paper with a specific number written which is given by us.
